Makassar, November 11, 2024 – To commemorate its 59th anniversary, UIN Alauddin Makassar held a meaningful celebration on Monday, November 11, 2024. The event, themed “Merawat Keunggulan, Menjaga Keseimbangan, dan Meniti Kesinambungan,” began at approximately 7:00 AM and continued until the day’s end with a respectful and inspiring atmosphere.
This special occasion was honored by the presence of the Minister of Religious Affairs of Indonesia, who is also the alumni of IAIN Alauddin Ujung Pandang, Prof. Dr. Nasaruddin Umar, MA., who expressed deep appreciation for UIN Alauddin’s contribution to higher Islamic education in Indonesia.
The Rector of UIN Alauddin, Prof. Hamdan Juhannis, M.A., Ph.D delivered a motivational speech, calling on all academic community members to continue contributing to the university’s achievements. “Let us do our best for our campus to sustain the accomplishments we’ve built. To keep this continuity, we must keep moving forward—there is no other choice but to keep moving and moving,” the Rector passionately urged. The Rector emphasized the hope that everyone would remain enthusiastic in innovating and contributing to ensure continued academic progress and service to the community.
The event was also attended by the Head of the International Office, Dr. Serliah Nur, M.Hum., M.Ed. and international students that studying at UIN Alauddin Makassar They are from Iraq, Sudan and Thailand. “I wish a happy 59th birthday to UIN Alauddin Makassar, may it continue to grow and be more successful. I am very proud to be a part of this special campus.,” Saadah said, a master’s student from Thailand.
The presence of international students reflected the university’s spirit of inclusivity and openness in facing global challenges.
This anniversary celebration serves as a pivotal moment for UIN Alauddin Makassar to continue progressing as a university that contributes not only nationally but also internationally.
