Makassar, May 25, 2026 — The International Office of UIN Alauddin Makassar proudly announces that the Head of the International Office, Dr. Serliah Nur, M.Hum., M.Ed., has been selected to participate in the international program English for Specific Purposes: Virtual English Language Educators for High-Ranking Government Officials Batch II. The program is organized by the Bureau for International Technical Cooperation of the Ministry of State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the United States Embassy in Jakarta.
The program, which will run from May 25 to July 16, 2026, is designed to strengthen professional and diplomatic English competencies for high-ranking officials from ministries and government institutions across Indonesia. The initiative serves as a strategic platform for enhancing international communication skills and promoting professional engagement in global contexts.
Dr. Serliah Nur was selected as a representative of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and joined Group 4 alongside delegates from various national ministries and government institutions. The program involves 44 selected participants from 21 ministries and governmental agencies across Indonesia who successfully passed a competitive selection process.
Throughout the program, participants will engage in intensive training sessions focusing on professional communication, diplomacy, negotiation strategies, report writing, and policy presentation in international settings. The program aims to equip participants with advanced English communication skills required for governmental and international collaboration.
The participation of Dr. Serliah Nur in this prestigious international program reflects the continued commitment of the International Office of UIN Alauddin Makassar to advancing the university’s internationalization agenda. It also demonstrates the institution’s ongoing efforts to strengthen global engagement, international networking, and cross-cultural academic collaboration.
In addition to serving as Head of the International Office, Dr. Serliah Nur is also the Secretary of the master’s program in English Language Education at the Graduate School of UIN Alauddin Makassar.
