On Thursday, November 21, 2024, the International Office of UIN Alauddin Makassar proudly held the event U.S. Scholarship Socialization: Let’s Study in the U.S., in collaboration with Education USA and AMINEF. The event, held at the Senate Meeting Room on the 4th Floor of the Rectorate Building, featured inspiring speakers, including alumni of prestigious scholarship programs.

Dr. Serliah Nur, S.Hum., M.Ed. the Head of the International Office and also the Head of the event committee, expressed her appreciation for the collaboration that had been established. “It is an honor and pride for us, the International Office of UIN Alauddin Makassar, to work together with Education USA and AMINEF,” she stated. She also added that this event is a strategic step to broaden UIN students’ perspectives on global educational opportunities, particularly in the United States, encouraging them to compete on an international level.

One of the speakers and Education USA Advisor, Fadhil Adiyat, also shared his hopes for the collaboration. “We hope this partnership will continue in the future, not only by holding information sessions like this but also through technical mentoring and English preparation for the students,” he said. He emphasized that thorough preparation, both in terms of language and application documents, is crucial to increase students’ chances of being accepted into prestigious programs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The event was officially opened by the Head of the AUPK Bureau, Drs. H. Sulaeman, M.Pd. In his remarks, he expressed his appreciation for the successful organization of the scholarship socialization event. “Thank you to Dr. Serliah and the International Office team for initiating this socialization activity. We hope that UIN students will be selected to continue their studies in the United States,” he said. He also reminded students to always remember their homeland when pursuing knowledge abroad.

The event featured Andi Iqram Anas (Global UGRAD 2021, Otterbein University), Fatmawati Akhmad, S.Pd., MA (Fulbright Master Alum, Marshall University), and Muthi Syahida Arifuddin, S.S., M.Hum (CCIP Alum, Kirkwood Community College) as speakers. They shared their experiences and provided valuable tips for successfully obtaining scholarships. The event was moderated by Waode Surya Darmadali, M.Hum, a YSEALI alumna, who led the session effectively and interactively.

Participants had the opportunity to gain direct insights about scholarship programs and consult with the speakers. This event is expected to serve as a gateway for UIN Alauddin Makassar students to realize their dreams of pursuing higher education in the United States.
