On July 23, 2025, the International Office of UIN Alauddin Makassar participated in the National Meeting on the Utilization of Foreign Cooperation for Human Resource Development, held at the Diorama Building, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

The event brought together representatives from 82 State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) across Indonesia to discuss strategies for expanding global partnerships and developing institutional capacity through international cooperation.

The meeting was officially opened by Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., M.Ag., Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation of UIN Jakarta, accompanied by Prof. Arif Zamhari, M.Ag., Ph.D., Head of the Center for International Cooperation Services (PLKI).

Also delivering remarks was Imam Syaukani, M.H., Head of the Bureau of Legal Affairs and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. He highlighted the importance of collaboration and the role of international programs in enhancing the quality and competitiveness of Islamic higher education institutions.

Participants had the opportunity to hear insights from three speakers:

Ahrul Tsani Fathurrahman, Director of Middle East Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who discussed academic partnership opportunities with institutions in the Middle East.

Rangga Kurnia Sakti, Policy Analyst from the Ministry of State Secretariat, who explained how to optimize technical cooperation programs for institutional development.

Mita Mardiyah from AMINEF Indonesia, who introduced the Fulbright Scholarship Program and shared its benefits, unique features, and requirements.

Through this meeting, the International Office of UINAM gained new perspectives and valuable information to support its ongoing efforts in strengthening international collaboration. The experience also served as an opportunity to connect with partners and reaffirm UINAM’s commitment to advancing global engagement in higher education.
