Makassar, August 20, 2025 — The International Office of UIN Alauddin Makassar officially opened the Indonesian Language Program for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) II at the International Office, at ground floor, Rectorate Building of UIN Alauddin Makassar. The event was attended by international students from Sudan, Iraq, and Thailand who are currently pursuing their studies at UIN Alauddin Makassar.

The program was opened by the Head of the International Office, Dr. Serliah Nur, M.Hum., M.Ed.,. In her speech, Dr. Serliah expressed her hopes that by joining BIPA, international students would be able to improve their ability to communicate in daily conversations. She also reminded them to maintain or even improve their GPA in order to keep their scholarships during their study in Indonesia.

The class is facilitated by Dr. H. Salman, S.Ag., M.Pd., who motivates students to engage in consistent practice in order to achieve fluency in Indonesian.

Through BIPA II, the International Office shows its commitment to helping international students learn across cultures. The program is designed to build basic skills in speaking, reading, and writing Indonesian, while also introducing them to local culture through fun and interactive activities. The International Office also hopes this program will make it easier for international students to engage better in their classes and their studies at UIN Alauddin Makassar.
