Makassar, February 12, 2025 – The first BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing) class of 2025 at UIN Alauddin Makassar officially opened, marking the start for international students in learning the Indonesian language and culture. The program was met with great enthusiasm, as students actively engaged in the interactive learning sessions.

The activity was opened by the Head of the International Office, Dr. Serliah Nur, M.Hum., M.Ed. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of academic commitment, encouraging students to study diligently to complete their education on time. She also reminded them to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00 to ensure their scholarships remain eligible based on their academic performance. “We hope all international students can manage their studies well and graduate on time” she stated.

The class was taught by Indah Fadhilah Rahman, S.Pd., M.Hum., an English Education Lecturer. With an engaging and interactive approach, she introduced students to essential language skills, daily conversation, and cultural insights, making the learning process both enjoyable and effective.

International students showed great enthusiasm, appreciating the opportunity to improve their Indonesian language skills. The interactive teaching methods, including role-playing in promoting products encouraged active participation and created a dynamic learning environment.

With such high enthusiasm from participants, the International Office of UIN Alauddin Makassar hopes to expand the BIPA program further, ensuring that international students receive comprehensive language support to help them succeed academically and culturally during their studies in Indonesia.
