30 Oct 2024, Makassar, Indonesia – UIN Alauddin Makassar recently hosted representatives from Ruijie Networks, a leading network solutions provider from China, who presented their smart campus technology offerings to university leadership, including the Rector, Prof. Hamdan Juhannis, M.A., Ph.D. The two representatives from Ruijie, one of them is Austin Si shared insights into advanced networking solutions that have been implemented at over 2,600 universities in China and several major universities in Indonesia, such as Telkom University and ITB.
The presentation highlighted a range of digital solutions for smart campus development, focusing on advanced networking systems, data security management, and interactive learning technologies. Ruijie’s technology has been used widely to enhance digital learning environments and improve campus connectivity, which the team believes could support UIN Alauddin’s commitment to modernization.
During the session, Rector Prof. Hamdan inquired specifically about how Ruijie Networks’ solutions could create long-term value for UIN Alauddin Makassar. He welcomed the potential benefits but emphasized the importance of understanding how these technologies would contribute to the university’s future goals. The Rector also noted that, should further discussion be needed, Ruijie Networks could coordinate with vice Rector IV, Head of the International Office Dr. Serliah Nur, M.Hum., M.Ed., as well as the Head of the Center for Information Technology and Database (Ketua Pusat Teknologi Informasi dan Pangkalan Data) Asep Indra Syahyadi, S.Kom., M.Kom.
This initial meeting opens up opportunities for collaboration, with both UIN Alauddin Makassar and Ruijie Networks exploring ways to enhance digital education and campus services
